Stacey, (Federal Training Program Manager, MA) and Mechelle, (Prek-22 Education Specialist)  have spent their careers exploring and innovating

in various aspects of teaching and learning..



M. E. Jones (M.Ed) has spent over 25 years teaching in the K-12 environment. Mechelle has taught adult GED preparation and every public school grade from Pre-K to 10.  In addition to classroom instruction, student evaluations, and learning teams consultation, she has also spent her career helping students and their families find the necessary tools to ensure the students reach their maximum learning potential.

Stacey (MA) started her career in higher education. She has worked as a Dean's Assistant, a Certificate Program Manager, an Academic Advisor and a Director of Education. She left the world of higher education to become a public servant where she has worked in three different Federal agencies and has had a range of positions. The thread that ties all of her experience together is her interest in helping people navigate personal and professional development journeys and helping people identify and address their training and development needs.

In 2020, when the typical classroom environment was not an option due to guidance issued in response to COVID 19, Mechelle as a teacher and Stacey as a stepmom, saw the challenges students faced when trying to learn from a distance. They determined that at the very least if students had access to the learning tools that they 1) were used to using while learning or 2) didn’t need in the traditional classroom because the face-to-face environment provided the structure they needed to focus and learn, it could improve their learning experience.

 

After a series of conversations, they decided they would create a company where parents and teachers could obtain the tools that would enhance their students' learning.

 

….and The Distance Learning Toolkit was born.
